Effective bankroll management is the single most important skill a long-term player can develop. Before you place a single bet, establish a dedicated gambling budget — an amount you are completely comfortable losing, separate from everyday expenses like rent, bills, and food. Keep a simple record of your play — date, game, starting balance, ending balance, and session duration. A basic spreadsheet or even a notebook works well.
